Synaptek Introduces Second Generation of TAPLESS Text Acceleration Technology for the Pocket PC

2003 -- Synaptek Software today announced the immediate
availability of TAPLESS(TM) Gen2.0 for the Pocket PC. This second
generation of TAPLESS technology makes it easier than ever for new
users to make the most of TAPLESS. Generation 2.0 also increases the
performance gap between TAPLESS and the competition with the
introduction of a new browsing mode, new gesturing capabilities and
improved skins.
Employing game like design elements,
TAPLESS challenges users to constantly attain higher performance
levels. Hyper-Adaptive design means TAPLESS instantly adapts to the
users context and style. Word-Webs(TM) make the entire process fun and
intuitive, allowing users to browse to words. It comes with 40 skins,
letting you choose from a selection of 4 keyboards designs or
Picasso(TM) character recognition in a variety of colors. "With
TAPLESS Gen 2.0 the primary design goal was to give new users the
ability to attain extreme acceleration from first tap," said

- Tap and Hold browsing This new
browsing mode greatly simplifies operation by eliminating the
requirement for the gestures used in Pro Mode, while still achieving
performance levels approaching Pro Mode.
- Live Setup and Configuration Wizard
This new Wizard guides users through the selection of a browsing mode
while also educating them about key operation and performance features
all while using TAPLESS.
- Sort by Length Option This new
performance option sorts the Word-Webs presentations by word length to
improve list-scanning speeds.
- List Pruning Option This new
performance options removes list entries that have only one extra
character until you begin browsing to improve list-scanning speeds.
- Multi-Level Undo Now you can quickly
roll back mistakes with a single tap.
- Advanced Number Panel The updated
Number Pad now has better ergonomics and requires less screen space.
It may also be conveniently positioned directly over the keyboard.
- Auto-Hide Keyboard Extensions This
new feature conveniently hides the keyboard extensions when you switch
back to the keyboard, helping to keep the screen uncluttered.
- Gesturing on all Panels The Number
Pad and Punctuation Extension now accept full gestures. Number keys
themselves now support advanced gestures to further speed numeric
entries.
